Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center requested the design and construction phase servcies for the renovation of their existing cath lab to an EP Lab. The new EP lab changes the way in which services are provided in that all of the srevices have been moved form the floor and floor boxes to suspended ceiling booms including anesthesia and equipment. Additionally, the finishes have been upgraded as well as as staff positions size and layout. The space of the existing cath lab was in an old courtyard part of the building which had been infilled years ago. The new EP lab expanded past the old courtyard boundaries and so special consideration was given to moving ’80’s era pin columns and resupporting roof joists to allow for a larger clear floor area and a better clinical function.
